Nicole Levine, MSW, LCSW (She/Her/Hers)
I became a therapist because I believe the power of connection and support helps us move through the world more easily.
MY APPROACH
My approach combines compassion, directness, and acceptance to help you clarify and move toward your goals. I am passionate about working with individuals to increase their self-awareness, build their strengths, and explore options to cope more effectively. Through our work, we will also use humor to create lightness and softness when needed.
I utilize various therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Additionally, to better support clients with OCD, I am currently training to utilize I-CBT. I am a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) and working towards becoming a Certified Shame Informed Treatment Specialist (CSTS). I also integrate research by Brené Brown on empathy, courage, vulnerability, and shame. Together, we will identify the techniques to best support you, your experience, and your process.
My Experience And education
My areas of expertise are working with teens, young adults, and adults who are dealing with anxiety, OCD, depression, life transitions, performance/life balance, and relationship challenges. By discovering areas of improvement and strengthening your ability to manage your stressors, I hope to help you feel more empowered, engaged, and confident in your life.
I previously worked as a therapist at Compass Health Center in Chicago in the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) settings. I supported clients in building coping skills through group therapy and individual sessions.
I then transitioned to a group private practice where I saw clients individually and supervised clinicians working toward their clinical licensures. Since 2022, I have been seeing clients in independent private practice.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison in Psychology and Legal Studies.
I received my Master of Social Work with a concentration in mental health from Loyola University Chicago.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (License 149.022131) & California Board of Behavioral Sciences (License LCSW117358).
